        The bombings of the World Trade Center in New York and the federal
        office building in Oklahoma City prove that Ryder trucks are the
        terrorist bomber's vehicle of choice.  Using the politically
        correct illogic prevalent in our society, it therefore follows that
        Congress should immediately enact anti-terrorist legislation to:

        1. require a background check before anyone can rent a Ryder truck,

        2. institute a 15 day waiting period before a Ryder truck can be
        driven away by the renter,

        3. limit the number of Ryder trucks an individual can rent to one
        per month,

        4. enact a special 1,000% tax on gasoline or diesel fuel for use in
        a Ryder truck,

        5. ban the rental of Ryder trucks with automatic transmissions
        (assault trucks).

        6. 10 bomb limit per Ryder truck.

Of course, that won't stop terrorist bombers, but it will make
Congress feel good.  If the Ryder company is put out of business,
that will be a small price to pay for the perception of safety.
