        _Screaming in Digital______________________________Editor's Note_

Greetings, and welcome to November. For the time being
I'm going to try to keep this thing on a twice-weekly schedule of
Monday and Thursday - for many of the employed, the worst and
best (payday) days of the week. After "Building Empires" is
released, particularly toward collegiate winter break, it may
return to Mondays-only. The 8k limit on each issue will remain
in place, though, at least for now.
Speaking of "Building Empires," EMI/Manhattan tells me
that it _will_ be released in the US on November third. However,
no dates for international releases have been set thus far, as
EMI is waiting to hear from its overseas subsidiaries. They've
promised to let us know as soon as those dates are set.
In this issue: Pamela Moore, the subliminal addictive
message conspiracy, guitar ads, "Operation: Empire," "Live in
Tokyo," sound bites, and import CD singles to request for the
	holidays.

I want know if there are any other bands or organizations
who have used Pamela Moore? She has the greatest voice quality,
especially in 'Suite Sister Mary' off "Operation: Mindcrime."
Totally incredible. Can anyone help me?
{Well, as I understand it, she's got her own band
			in Seattle.  -sh}

	rcollins@nyx.cs.du.edu (Randy) writes,
Sometimes I listen to Queensryche so much I think my head
is going to explode. I've tried to listen to other groups and
other music, I'm also a big Rush fan, but always return
faithfully back to you-know-who. Does Queensryche put something
addicting in their music? Something about 'The Lady Wore Black'
	turns me inside out.

	cs203101%vixen.dnet@terra.oscs.montana.edu (Don) writes,
In the latest issue of Guitar magazine, there is an ad by
Ovation guitars that has Chris DeGarmo, Michael Wilton, and Ann
Wilson, with Seattle in the background. Pretty cool picture,
except that I couldn't even tell it was Chris DeGarmo at first!
Dunno if it has already been mentioned, but this was the first
	time I've seen the ad.

"Live in Tokyo" is available in the UK at branches of
Tower HMV. It's in the PAL format (Sorry non-UK people) and
costs around 11 pounds UK. Anyone know the UK release date of
	"Building Empires?"

        _The Killing Words_________________________Babble Interpretation_

	rham@ucs.indiana.edu (Ryan) writes,
I have heard the intro to "Mindcrime" on another show.
It was the Cosby Show epsiode where Elvin and Sandra were having
the twins. I'm curious as to what the process is that the
producers go through to get that on the show.

	ddwa_ltd@uhura.cc.rochester.edu (Dan) writes,
My sources tell me that the "Dr. Blair..." line is also
at the beginning of Motley Crue's "Dr. Feelgood," as well as a
few movies that I've seen lately. Even though "Mindcrime" came
out first, I wonder if they recorded it themselves, or if they in
fact might have acquired it from elsewhere, too?

	jbell@mihi.une.edu.au () writes,
About the "Doctor Blair...," that's also in 'Terror n
Tinseltown' by Motley Crue if anyone's noticed.

	erik@isis.ngs.noaa.gov (Erik) writes,
I was flipping through the channels and heard "Dr. Davis,
telephone please..." on a very technical Tylenol ad on some sort
of medical channel. (I think it was Lifetime Medical or
something.) I wonder why this is such a favorite hospital sound?

	Tina.Briones@ebay.sun.com (Tina) writes,
Yes I heard it too! Got my attention real quick! I've
also heard this on a soap opera one day when I was home sick,
but I don't remember which one.
I was wondering if anyone else would catch it.

	bn@mndcrme.uoknor.edu (Bo) writes,
If anyone was watching the episode of ROC on the FOX
network Sunday, Oct. 11, you might have noticed the sound bite
when Roc and his wife went into the hospital. It was the
familiar "Dr. Blair, Dr. Blair. Dr. Jay Hamilton, Dr. Jay
Hamilton." Seems like someone on the production staff of the
	show is a Queensryche fan!

	leo@ph.tn.tudelft.nl (Leo) writes,
You don't have to publish a hardcover about it, but can
you perhaps shed some light on this? Why is this sound-bite so
often used? Why didn't they just record something original?
Where is it originally from? Were the "I want hands to be
uplifted" etc. sequences also not recorded directly by/for
Queensryche? Does anybody know these things?
{The sound bite is a "stock" sound used in all
branches of the entertainment industry. It's
sort of "Generic Hospital." Queensryche didn't
			create it themselves.  -sh}

We have two copies of the 'Empire' import CD5, two copies

'Another Rainy Night' import CD5 featuring 'Last Time In Paris.'
These are $11.99 each (plus shipping of course).

establishment, and is well-acquainted with the
Queensryche import-CD scene. You can reach him

	crenner@mcs213k.cs.umr.edu () writes,
Both copies of Operation: Empire are still available.
When I went by Now Hear This last Saturday night, both of them
	were still there.
{The boxed sets are available from Now Hear This.
			The store's number is (314)-965-3585.  -sh}
