        _Screaming_in_Digital______________________________Editor's Note_

Greetings, and happy Columbus Day to those who celebrate
it. For those not in the Fanclub (see the header if you want to
be), the latest news from them is that the guys in the band have
written too many songs for one album, and are trying to decide
which ones to use, and that they're not breaking up. Also, the
Queensryche _condoms_ that were mentioned here a while ago are
"bootlegs," according to the latest newsletter. Oh, and Michael
Wilton and his wife (Kerrie Lynn) had a baby son August 5th, who
has been named "Jazz," their second child.
In digest news, a brave volunteer has stepped forward to
assemble a list of past Queensryche concert dates and set lists.
More on that below - I commend him.

        Tour Guide Hugh <am102@yfn.ysu.edu>
I would be willing to put together a tour guide. Please
send me dates and cities with venues if possible. It would also
be nice to include song lists. I'll be in touch in a couple of
weeks to let you know how the project is going.
                        {Thanks, Hugh!  -sh}

        Ryche License Plates Kevin <ryche@delphi.com>
Today, as most people do every year, I went and renewed
my license plate. But something grabbed my attention:
personalized license plates. So for the extra $40, I had mine
say QSRYCHE. RYCHE was already taken. -sigh- Anyone else have
any Queensryche related license plate ideas?

        Queensryche MODs? Tom <tmurphy@sun490.fdu.edu>
Would anyone happen to know if there are any Queensryche
MOD files out there? If not, I think they'd be a great idea!
{There are some WAV and IFF audio files on
cs.uwp.edu, but I haven't seen any MODs. You may
                        want to try converting those.  -sh}

        Building Empires CD Rob <rhalse20@calvin.edu>
I have a copy of "The Sound of Building Empires" on CD.
Can anyone tell me anything as to its value (I know you cannot
buy it in the stores)? Is it very rare? Just curious.

        Austin Convention Dave <dwb4025@rigel.tamu.edu>
Well, I went to the Austin Record Convention on September
25 and found a lot of stuff on the 'Ryche. Some of the items I
        picked up were:
"Return of the Empire" on CD.
"End of the Silence" on CD.
                "Ryche N Roll" on CD.
1st pressing of "Rage for Order" with the blue ring.
                'Jet City Woman' boxset (UK).
                'Real World' promo single.
Japanese CD of the 'Queensryche' EP.
A press release glossy from the Billboard Music Awards.
                An "Operation: Mindcrime" promo poster.
A few of the items which I saw but didn't purchase:
206 pressing of the "Queensryche" EP - $100.
Japanese "Mindcrime" & EP tour books - $100 each.
12" promo of 'Revolution Calling' autographed.
12" single of 'Warning' - Japanese autographed.
Japanese "Rage for Order" on vinyl $55.
                "Empire" 2-LP from Korea.
                "Empire 2-LP" from UK.
There was also a copy of the "Operation: Empire" box for sale,
but the guy wanted $220 for it, which I found to be hilarious.
I wore my shirt from the digest to the show and met a
fellow subscriber because of it - hey Sonny! I knew the shirt
would be good for something. Heh Heh.

Rage for Order Vinyl Jason <jmgrif01@msuacad.morehead-st.edu>
I was recently in Louisville, Kentucky, and happened to
find a copy of "Rage for Order" on _vinyl_ of all things, and,
stupid me, waited until to late to get back to buy it, and the
store was closed. My question is, how bad did I screw up? How
rare is this? Is it worth anything, above the fact that it's
        (probably) a rarity...?

        Backing Vocals Kevin <ip15085@portland.caps.maine.edu>
I was watching "Video: Mindcrime" last week and noticed
something interesting. In most, if not all of the songs, Chris,
Eddie, and Mike are singing backup vocals. I remember reading in
an earlier (long time ago) digest about the fact that Geoff sang
all of the vocals on the "Operation: Mindcrime" album. Anyone
        else have any insight?
{None of the other bandmembers are credited with
backing vocals on "Operation: Mindcrime" itself.
However, in live performances, they do sing
some of the backing vocals. On the video, it was
probably lip-syncing to give that impression, as
                        the audio part is identical to the album.  -sh}

        Roads to Madness Bill <bv029@eeyore.ins.cwru.edu>
I have been trying to figure out what Geoff says in the
interlude of 'Roads to Madness.' I've only been able to catch a
few words. Any help would be appreciated.
{I can't make out a single bit of it... only
                        Geoff knows for sure, I guess.  -sh}

        Dream Theater? Larry <lhartm1@gl.umbc.edu>
Please let me know where I can get some info on Dream
Theater. I would like letters, images, tab anything you can
        find. Even their grocery lists!
                        {You'll want to e-mail ytsejam-request@bnf.com,
                        to get on the Dream Theater e-mail list.  -sh}

        Mercury Rising Stephen <sgorny1@umbc2.umbc.edu>
I mention this here because this is where I heard about
this band. I called up one of the guys in the band a few weeks
ago and talked to him. They have just released a cassette EP
which is available for $7.00 (no cheques). You can get it (or
get on their mailing list) by writing to:
                Mercury Rising
                c/o Gary Goldsmith

That's about it for now... see you all again next week,
        and don't forget to write!

                'Ryche on,
