Darren's Amazing Laws of Physics - Part 1  -  THE SPEED OF LIGHT

Assumption : Nothing can travel at the speed of light.

If nothing can travel at the speed of light then it follows that light
itself cannot travel at the speed of light.

Let c=speed of light.

nothing can go the speed of light so this gives

        c < c

Therefore, the speed of light must tend towards minus infinity.

Hence light actually travels backwards at an infinite speed!!!!



For all you non-physisists out there - what this actually means in
practical terms can be shown with this example.

Bob stands at one end of a corridor, and shines a torch at Alice.
If we watch this in slow motion (the speed of this slow motion must
tend to zero - or be infinitely slow...)  then we will actually
see the beam of light shooting out of Alice down the corridor to Bob's
torch.

This proof is likely to have some quite interesting effects on the
world of physics.  For example, this law of physics may actually help
solve one of the greatest mysteries in the Universe, "why can't you
open the door to the fridge without seeing the light switch on?".
