Title: Green tomato and apple pickle (mennonite)

Yield: 2 Gallons +/
1 1/2 ga Green tomatoes; chopped
1/3 c Salt
1 lg Onion
2 qt Chopped apples
1 bn Celery; chopped
2 ts Mustard seed
1 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Cloves
1 ts Allspice
2 lb Sugar
1 qt Vinegar
Sprinkle the salt over the chopped tomatoes and let stand overnight.
In the morning, drain and add chopped onion, celery and apples. Mix
spices with the sugar and add vinegar. Add liquid to pickle mixture
and simmer slowly for 1 hour. Pack into hot jars and seal.
