Title: Floating island
Yield: 1 Servings
2 c Milk, scalded
1/4 c Sugar
2 ea Eggs
1/8 ts Salt
1/2 ts Vanilla
Beat 1 egg and 1 egg yolk until blended. Add 3 tablespoons sugar and
salt. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly. Cook until mixture coats
a spoon. Cool. Add flavoring. Beat egg white until stiff. Fold in 1
tablespoon sugar. Drop by teaspoonfuls on custard. Chill thoroughly.
If desired, a portion of the meringue may be folded into the custard
before the custard is chilled. 6 servings. The Household Searchlight
