Title: Chocolate caramel squares
Yield: 24 Servings
1 pk (14-oz) caramels
2/3 c Evaporated milk
1/4 c Butter or margarine; melted
1 pk German chocolate cake mix
1 pk (6-oz) semi-sweet chocolate
1 c Chopped nuts
Melt caramels with 1/3 cup milk. Set aside. Grease & flour a
13x9-inch pan. In large bowl, pour cake mix, melted butter, 1/3 cup
milk & 1/2 cup nuts. Mix by hand until mix is the consistency of pie
crust. Press half of mixture into bottom of pan. Bake at 350 for 6
minutes. Remove from oven & while hot, sprinkle with chocolate chips,
then 1/2 cup nuts. Top wiht melted caramel mixture. Take remaining
dough, crumble into small pieces & sprinkle over caramel. Bake 15-16
minutes longer. Cool & cut into squares.
