  1 1/2 qt Green beans -- cut
      2 tb Bacon -- chopped
      1 tb Shortening
      3 md Onions -- sliced
      4 md Tomatoes -- sliced
      1 ts Salt
      1 c  Hot water
        ds Red pepper
 
  Fry bacon crisp; add remaining ingredients.  Simmer for 1 hour. Add
  water as needed.
