Title: Louisa may alcott's apple slump
 Categories: Desserts, Fruit
      Yield: 1 Servings

      4 To 6 tart apples
    1/2 c Brown sugar
    1/4 ts Nutmeg
    1/4 ts Cinnamon
    1/4 ts Salt
  1 1/2 c Flour
      2 ts Baking powder
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/2 c Sugar
      1 Egg -- well beaten
    1/2 c Milk
    1/2 c Melted butter

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease the inside of a 1 1/2 quart baking dish.
Place sliced apples, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon
salt in the dish. Bake apples uncovered until soft, about 20
minutes. While apples are baking, sift together the flour, baking
powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt and sugar. Mix into this the beaten
egg, milk and melted butter. Stir gently. Spread the mixture over the
apples and continue baking until the top is brown and crusty (about
25 minutes). Serve with whipped cream. From Jennie Partridge
