General Information ------------------- 6150ADT Features: Backlit display, dedicated function keys, piezo buzzer. 6160ADT Features: Backlit display, dedicated function keys, speaker. The 6150 and 6160 are addressable remote keypads designed for use with ADT control panels. Addresses are set via the keypad. Keypad keys are constantly backlit for conveinience. Keypad displays and LEDs ------------------------ 6150: Fixed word backlit LCD display, 2-zone digit identifier. 6160: 2x16 Line alpha numeric Supertwist backlit LCD, custom zone descriptors. The following identifies the keypad's LEDs and associated functions: RED: Lights when the system is armed in any mode. GREEN: Lights when the system is ready to be armed. Special function keys --------------------- Keypads also feature function keys. These keys may be programmed for panic alarms or other special functions such as macros. Function keys must be held down for at least 2 seconds to activate an alarm; key pairs are activated immediately. Function Keys--------Key Pairs A--------------------1 and * B--------------------* and # C--------------------3 and # D--------------------empty How to remove the keypad ------------------------ Push the two snaps along the bottom edge and pull the case apart. Wiring Diagram (All models) --------------------------- Keypad....Control Panel....Wire color D1..........Data in........Green - ..........Ground ........Black + ..........Positive.......Red DO..........Data out.......Yellow PROGRAMMING ----------- Setting the keypad address -------------------------- The keypad can either be set for an address of 00-30 or for non-addressable mode(31). The default keypad address is 31. To change the keypad address, proceed as follows: 1. Enter the address mode: Power up the keypad. Within 60 second of power-up, press and hold down the [1] and [3] keys at the same time for 3 seconds. (If unable to enter the address mode, power down, power up, and try again). The current keypad address is displayed, and the cursor is under the "tens" digit. If 10 seconds pass with no key entry, the keypad automatically exits address mode. You must power down, power up, and start the address mode again. NOTE: The keypad will not enter the address mode if the control panel is in the programming mode. 2. Set the current address to "00": Press [0] to clear the current "tens" digit. The cursor moves to the "ones" digit position. Press [0] to clear the current "ones" digit. The cursor moves back to the "tens" digit position. 3. Enter the keypad address: Enter the proper "tens" digit of the keypad address. The cursor moves to the "ones" digit position. Enter the proper "ones" digit of the keypad address. Note that address "31" sets the keypad to a non-addressable mode. 4. Exit the address mode: Press [*] to save the displayed address and exit the address mode. VIEWING THE KEYPAD ADDRESS -------------------------- Press and hold down the [1] and [3] keys at the same time for about 3 seconds. The current address is displayed. No key entry is allowed. Press any key to exit or wait 10 seconds to exit the viewing mode. Notes ----- Keypad speaker: Fire alarm is a pulsing single tone.
