º                          How To Remember Stuff.                             º
ÓÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄĽ

     Did you know that 90% of Learning is memorization?  Yes, this
is true, believe it or not.  Remembering can be quick and easy if 
you follow simple memorization techniques.  I will show you some 
of these memorization techniques and what they are used for.

     First I will describe the Link System of memorization.  This 
is a system useed to Memorize a list of any number of items.  Once 
you use the Link System you will be able to remember your list in 
forward or reverse order.  Here is a list of Five items:  
Airplane, Tree, Envelope, Earings, Bucket.  This is the list that 
we want to memorize.  The Idea is to take the First two items on 
the list and think of the most ridicolous menatl picture possible. 
For example; You might Think of a tree flying and an airplane 
sticking out of the ground like a tree.  This will make you 
originally aware of the items and you will remember them if you 
can remember the picture in your mind.  To remember the picture in 
your mind all You have to do is make sure it is the most 
ridicolous thing you can think of.  It doesn't matter how long you 
see the picture in your mind as long as it is clear.  Next you 
might think of Envelopes hanging on the trees in place of the 
leaves, because this is ridicolous.  You do this for the rest of 
your list you want to memorize.  Once you complete this process 
then you can take the first item, Airplane, and it automaticaly 
reminds you of tree because you remember the picture.  You can 
start with the first item on your list, or the last item.  Your 
list can be as long as you want.  Just remember to make the mental 
picture the most ridicolous picture you can think of.

     The next System is substitution.  What if you wanted to 
remember the States in alphabetical order or reverse alphabetical 
order?  It is easy to link them, but how do you link Alabama with 
Alaska?  What does Alabama and Alaska look like?  They are hard to 
picture in your mind.  This is why we use Substitution.  You might 
assosiate Album with Alabama, because they sound so much alike.  
You do this for Alaska, and the rest of your list.  Then you link 
the substituted words together.  You might Say "Well how do you 
remember what you substituted?"  You will remember, don't ask how, 
but you will.  It is because you are originally aware.  YOU will 
Remember.

     You might say what can I use this for?  Well, what about 
memorizing speeches?  A speech is a series of thoughts.  If you 
substitute words for each thought, then you can link those 
thoughts together.  This will make it easier when you are 
speaking.  You won't say words like "Um","Ah", and you won't 
studder either.  Of course you can memorize a list as well.  If 
you have trouble remembering peoples names, then you can 
substitute there name and link it with there face.  There are many 
uses for these techniques and I hope they will be of some use to 
you.  They should cut your study time for school to 1/4 of the 
time you usually spend.

     Now you can get those desired A's, becuase after all 90% of 
Learning is memorizing.  So, if you remember then you shall get 
good grades.  These techniques are illustrated and explained in 
more detail in a book called "The Memory Book."  If you would like
