DEFENSE DATA NETWORK (MILNET) MAILBRIDGE PROBLEMS

A table limitation in the mailbridge function providing Exterior
Gateway Protocol (EGP) service has been reached. This problem is
having an adverse effect upon certain gateways interchanging routing
information. Although the full impact is not yet known, fault
isolation messages have indicated that some routing entries are not
being placed into the table for subsequent distribution. The table is
constructed in a dynamic fashion which precludes the forecasting of
denied entries at this time.

An interim solution of expanding the table sizes is being developed
and is targeted for implementation on or before 1 Dec 90. Those
gateway users experiencing difficulties should contact the CONUS
MILNET Trouble Desk at 1-800-451-7413, COMCL (202) 486-1982, or DSN
222-5726 for assistance.

DCA/DoD Point of Contact is Mr. Wayne Grindle at (703) 692-6068 or DSN
222-6068.
