Subject: The GeoAd Stop: Date: Tue, 16 Jun 1998 From:<agent_9@geocities.com> To: km@hackersclub.com Hey, I read a text on hidden directories, and I have a small but it is a hack that will save you 5 bucks a month on Geocities... By Agent 9 Blocking GeoAds: Ever wish you could stop those annoying GeoAds from coming up on every page you have? I have a solution. What to do: At the end of the file put <noscript> and press save. Thats it! Thats all you have to do. Background: I know some of you don't like backgrounds, but this is just if you want to know WHY it works... The popups are made from a script that Geocities adds AFTER you save the file. Unfortunately, you can't delete this script, but fortunately, you can make java cappable browsers not see it. The noscript tag is usually used for hiding javascript commands from old browsers and making up for it with text or something else on a page. I dont care if you use this as much as you want, Geocities probably won't do anything about it, the only thing they can do is bar the <noscript> tag, and I doubt they'll do that. :) Agent_9@geocities.com
