The other day i was talking to a friend of mine and i said something like "double click on an
batch file and it will run".  He replied with the greatest statement of all time.   "huh?"  This
inspired me to write a text file solely about extensions.  If you're in windows 95 then you need
to make sure you can see the extensions in the first place.  Open windows explorer and click on
the View menu, then Options.  UNcheck the "Hide MS-DOS file extensions for file types that are
registered."  Then click OK.

Now you should see that all of your files have a pretty little dot followed by three letters
tagged to the end of them.  those three letters are the extension, pronounced "x-TEN-shun" (not
ah-NOY-ing tha-RE le-TE-rs)

Other operating systems (linux, unix, mac, etc) show the extensions by default (i think) but if
they don't, there's always some option to turn them on.

This is not a complete list by no means, but it's all i can think of off the top of my head right
now.  All of these extensions SHOULD be preceded by a dot.
