Beige Box Plan by Fu5|0n ---------------------------- Step One: "Building the box" ---------------------------- So you wanna build a beige box (a.k.a. a lineman's handset). Well look no further this guide will take you step by step through the process to build a small inexpensive one that will provide you hours of entertainment. estimated cost: under $20 Materials Needed ---------------- A handheld phone (recommendation radio shack #43-3207) Alligator clips (preferably insulated and colored green and red) Soldering Iron Solder Wire cutters Ok first things first clip off the modular adaptor on the end of the cord of the phone (the plastic thing you plug into the wall outlet). Next carefully strip the wire until two insulated wires are exposed. One should be red and the other should be green. Now carefully strip the insulation off of the wires. There should be copper wire underneath. Take the red alligator clip and solder it to the red wire and put the insulation back on. Do the same with the green wire except put the green alligator clip on it. There you go you have a beige box that fits in the palm of your hand. Now all you have to do is test it out. Step Two: "Operation of your box" --------------------------------- Ok by now you should know what a phone box looks like. Open that bad boy up (you'll probably need a 3/8" wretch or ratchet to do this). Clip the gren alligator clip onto the green wire or green wire terminal. Clip the red alligator clip onto the red wire or red wire terminal. Haha now have some fun with your new toy.
