******** Introduction to Phone Taps
As I have recently experimented, It is possible to create a
simple phone tap. What you need is:
-A Phone Cord
-A old pair of headphones
-Wire Strippers
-Electrical Tape
-And a telephone!
******** Phone Wires
Take the phone cord, and strip back the rubber. You should find 2
wires underneath the rubber cover. One is black, and one is white. Strip
the two wires about 1 1/2 inches back.
******** Headphones
Take the headphones, and cut off the jack (the metal thing at the
bottom.). You should find 2 wires there as well. One should be black, and
one should be white. Headphone wire colors differ.. You must experiment.
Strip the two wires about 1 1/2 inches back.
******** Final Construction
Now that you have the wires ready, use the electric tape and tape the wires
together. Like, white with white, black with black. headphones to phone
cord.
Ex.
------------------\Black Phone Cord
Black Headphones ----------------
White Headphones ----------------
------------------/White Phone Cord
Thats a really bad example, but I hope you understand it.
******** What to do next.
Alright, Now you have your Thrify Phone tap. Plug the cord into a phone or
phone jack, and you can hear other people on the phone:) Please note that
the volume is very low. This is unchangeable. And also note that if you
have trouble with not hearing somthing, or you just get static, try messing
with the wires some more. Me and my friend had the same problem, but just
mess with the wires and it will work, usualy.
