Monitoring other cellular calls by modifying a Motorola Flip-Fone

The following instructions will allow you to listen to other cellular
phone calls on a Motorola flip phone...However i will warn those which
are common sense deficiant to be very careful when doing this.

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING MODIFICATIONS/TECHNIQUES ARE FOR INFORMATIONAL
PURPOSES ONLY AND SHOULD NOT BE DONE BY ANYONE OTHER THAN A TRAINED
AUTHORIZED CELLULAR PHONE TECHNICIAN.

Motorola flip phones can be put into what is called diagnostic mode.
this allows a user to punch in instructions directly from the keypad.
To put the phone in diagnostic mode you must make sure the phone is a
model F or later. There is a serial code sticker on the back of the
phone which will allow you to check. Second, you will want to locate
the middle battery terminal on the phones battery pack. you will want
to ground this contact against the middle terminal on the phone itself.

Usually taking a little tin foil and rolling it into a ball then
placing it in the recessed middle slot of the phone so it is slightly
raised will usually work.

After you have done this, connect the battery as you usually would
and power up the phone.

If the phone does not power up, turn it off immediatly and make
sure you have not shorted out any of the other two terminals...this can
be dangerous so be carefull
Now that the phone is in diagnostic mode you can enter the
following commands....most of these are from friends and personal
experince so they might not all work.

01#----REBOOT

05#----Turns the transmit carrier frequency on

06#----Turns the transmit carrier frequency off

07#----Mutes the audio reciever

08#----Unmutes the reciever audio

11#----Loads or sets frequency synthesizer(experiment with this
one..I.E. 11#1124#

38#-----Disply ESN

32#-----start NVRAM...this clears the timer and resets all programing

There are many other commands but these are the ones you need to do
what was stated earlier

STEP 1
type 08# to unmute the reciever audio

STEP 2
type 11#xxxx# to set the frequency

Thats really it...you might have to experiment with step two a bit to
find a number which works.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING ANY OF THE ABOVE MODIFACTIONS/TECHNIQUES.
DOING SO IS PROBABLLY ILLEGALL AND PUNISHABLE BY LAW. THIS INFORMATION
TO BE USED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.

Have fun and keep trying!
