Flex ANI Test Lines

AT&T, MCI/WorldCom, and Sprint are providing Flex ANI 70 test lines. All PSPs are encouraged to use this FREE FLEXANI SERVICE to test their ANIs, ensuring that Flex ANI 70 is being delivered from your payphones to these carriers.

If you find that you Flex ANI 70 is not being delivered, APCCS recommends that you notify your LEC as soon as possible. It is possible that:

    * Flex ANI is not implemented;
    * the carrier (IXC) has not contacted the LEC and subscribed to have Flex ANI 70
    * a technical failure occurred and the LEC has not fully re-implemented Flex ANI 70 (this is likely if Flex ANI 70 was being delivered in the past, but is currently not being delivered)

(Flex ANI 70 is the payphone coding digit required by the major IXCs to track calls eligible for dial around compensation. If other payphone digits are delivered - i.e. "07" or "00"- your dial around compensation may be significantly reduced or you may not receive dial around compensation on those payphone lines without Flex ANI 70.)

AT&T Test Line

The AT&T-provided toll free test number to dial from your payphone is:

1-888-999-6563

If the payphone is delivering Flex ANI 70 to AT&T, two possible automated recordings will be heard:

    * "The toll free number you are dialing cannot be accessed from a payphone. Please dial this number from a non-payphone" OR
    * "You have dialed a number not available from your calling area."

These mean the call is blocked.

If the payphone is not delivering Flex ANI 70 to AT&T, a different automated recording will be heard:

    * "Your call has been terminated as dialed"
      OR
    * "Your call has been completed."

MCI/WorldCom Test Line

The MCI and WorldCom-provided toll free test numbers to dial from your payphone are:
(APCCS recommends that you dial both test numbers)

MCI: 1-866-729-5050
WorldCom: 1-877-666-8883

If the payphone is delivering Flex ANI 70 to MCI and/or WorldCom, an automated recording will be heard:

    * "Your call cannot be completed from a payphone."

This means the call is blocked.

If the payphone is not delivering Flex ANI 70 to MCI and/or WorldCom, the call will be routed to a recording requesting information from the caller. The information the caller should have available is:

    * Caller and company name
    * Contact phone number (Contact name at PSP testing the ANI)
    * ANI being tested
    * LEC (Local Exchange Carrier)
    * The test number dialed which produced this response (either 866-729-5050 or 877-666-8883)

MCI/WorldCom is monitoring the voice mailbox regularly and a response will be made to the testing company within 2-3 weeks.

Sprint Test Line

The Sprint-provided toll free test number to dial from your payphone is:

1-800-375-6398

If the payphone is delivering Flex ANI 70 to Sprint, an automated recording will be heard:

If the payphone is not delivering Flex ANI 70 to Sprint, the call will be routed to a recording requesting information from the caller. The information the caller should have available is:

    * Caller and company name
    * Contact phone number (Contact name at PSP testing the ANI)
