Subject: Ringback "box"---(make your own ringback) From: xkmfdmx@aol.comf-ckspam (XKMFDMx) Date: 7 Nov 1998 21:31:56 GMT The Ringback "box" -by Maniac No ringback number? Operator won't ring you back? No problem. Materials: A resistor(300 ohms should be fine) 2 alligator clips *66 service an ANI number 2 subscriber lines to use it on maybe an SPST switch if you don't want to have to unclip it Construction crimp/solder an alligator clip onto each lead of the resistor. put the SPST switch in series if you want to make the thing switchable. That's all there is to the construction The usage of the this handy little gadget is as follows: 1. ANI a pair. 2. clip the sucker between tip and ring 3. hook up your buttset to the pair you want to ring back, and dial the number of the pair you stuck it on. It's busy.... 4. Hang up, hit *66, wait a sec, then hang up again 5. unclip/switch off the gadget Voila..Ringback! the drawback is that *66 does cost a small fee for actuation (53 cents where I live), but where I live in bell atlantic country there is a maximum charge of $4.77 per month for the *66 repeat dialing service. note: If you have a phone hooked up each of the lines, you should just use one to call the other, and not bother with this..this was written assuming one doesn't have access to 2 phones, or doesn't want to lug them around with them *Maniac* 1-978-440-8146 x.212=VMB
